As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
— Psalm 103:12
This verse explains how far God separates us from our sin when he forgives us. Think about the analogy in the verse. If you keep going north, you eventually cross over the north pole, and you start going south. However, if you go east, no matter how far you travel, you will NEVER start going west. This verse was written thousands of years before the earth could be seen from outer space, or people could fly around the earth with a compass. The incredible accuracy of this verse would be confirmed thousands of years after it was written, like so much of the Bible.
