Bible Prophecy

Messiah’s birth town, foretold 700 years prior

There are hundreds of “Messianic prophecies” in the Bible.  That is, prophecies foretelling specific information about the Messiah.  The chances of any one person fulfilling just a handful of these prophecies is astronomical.  Yet, Jesus Christ fulfilled not just a handful, but every single one.  His birth town is just one of many that we will post in the coming weeks as Christmas approaches.

Prophecy (700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ)

“But you, BETHLEHEM Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting.”

— Micah 5:2

Fulfillment

After Jesus was born in BETHLEHEM in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

— Matthew 2:1-2

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to BETHLEHEM the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.  He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

— Luke 2:1-7

Without the FORETELLING, the Bible would be like any other book.  But with its rate of 100% accuracy in foretelling events before they happen, the Bible is like NO other book!!!
