Bible Prophecy

“Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani” — Jesus Christ, Matthew 27:46

The historical account of Jesus Christ wasn’t just TOLD in the Gospels, it was also FORETOLD in the Old Testament. This is what makes the Bible unique among all books in the world, its 100% prophetic accuracy rate.

Psalm 22 is a rich source of these Old Testament Messianic prophecies (prophecies about the coming Messiah). To those familiar with Jesus’ words as he hung on the cross, the opening line of Psalm 22 is haunting.

“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?…”
— Psalm 22:1

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” -which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
— Matthew 27:46

Psalm 22 is loaded with prophecies about the crucifixion, 1000 years before they would be fulfilled to the letter on Calvary.
