In All Their Affliction

Jesus personally suffers the afflictions suffered by the Jewish people.

In all their [the Jews] affliction He [Jesus] was afflicted… ~ Isaiah 63:9

This is a very sobering verse. It states that Jesus Christ personally suffers the endless injustice perpetrated against the Jewish people throughout history. Now, through the lens of that verse, read these verses:

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.  All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren , you did it to Me.’

It was U.S. soldiers who “visited” (liberated) Jews in National Socialist (Nazi) concentration camps. The rest of the world stood by and watched or aided the Nazis. God bless the U.S.A.

“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in [people could have taken these strangers in and hid them from the Nazis, but chose not to], naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’

And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” ~ Matthew 25:25-46 (NKJV)

In all their affliction, he was afflicted. Matthew 25:25-46 is a breathtaking reinforcement of Isaiah 63:9.

So, Jesus will gather all nations and judge them according to their treatment of the Jews and Israel. Do we see this reinforced anywhere else in the Bible? Of course we do:

I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. ~ Joel 3:2

The Bible is centered upon the Jewish people, Israel, Jerusalem, and especially, the Messiah. I’ve heard people derisively question the Bible like so: “Are you saying that the Bible is about the Jewish people and that the church period is just a parentheses inside Jewish history?” My answer is: “Yes. That is exactly what I am saying.”

The ultimate proof of our salvation in this world (a proof that will be tested very soon) is our viewpoint of, and treatment of, the Jewish people and the land of Israel. Feeding the poor? Wonderful, but atheist socialists now see the public relations value in this, and Christians no longer have a monopoly on hitting the streets and feeding the poor. There is only one ultimate criterion in this physical world that proves or disproves one’s salvation– one’s viewpoint and treatment of the Jewish people and Israel.

Today’s Western Leftists and Islam have one major issue in common- their hatred of the Jews and Israel. Islam hates homosexuality, drugs, promiscuity, and atheism, yet is whole-heartedly supported by pro-homosexual, pro-drug, pro-promiscuity, pro-atheism Leftists. It makes no sense whatsoever, except when you see Islamists and Leftists standing side-by-side protesting the Jewish residency of Israel.

Both Islam and the Left want to divide the land of Israel and force the Jews to leave– just as the Bible says:

I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. ~ Joel 3:2

So, what about the legions of “Christians” who claim to have saving faith in Jesus Christ but support the enemies of Israel and the Jewish people? Well, simply read the text. You can twist it and deny it all day long, but it says what it says. The ultimate sign of the salvation of one’s soul is one’s treatment (in the physical realm) of the Jews and Israel.

But wait a minute, didn’t Paul say that to be saved you only had to say that Jesus was Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead?

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ~ Romans 10:9

Absolutely, Paul indeed said this and he is 100% correct. The problem is that modern Christianity pays so little attention to the Bible (while claiming to be the “Bible-believing” church), that we have fallen for the deception that all we need to do is claim faith in some guy named Jesus, while advocating against everything he so clearly asserts as his will. Jesus is Lord, the Jesus of the Bible, not some ambiguous guy we’ve Frankensteined together to suit our political prejudices and then named him “Jesus.” The Jesus of the Bible is Lord, not your own personal Jesus (to the possible chagrin of Depeche Mode).

The topic of Israel and the Jewish people will separate the sheep from the goats. The Bible is always proven true.

Notice how the sheep obey their shepherd, but the goats go their own way (upper left).
